| It seems like I have been caught in a whirlwind for the last few weeks! School started and all of a sudden I'm overcommitted (as usual). I'm doing the work of two teachers, because one of our teachers has not arrived. I was asked to write and grade assignments for her class. I'm getting paid for it, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. First, it was supposed to be two weeks...then three...and now it's turned into a six week thing. If it turns into any more, I'm just going to have to say no instead of being nice about it. Other then the craziness of school, life is pretty good. I haven't been able to work out for the last three weeks. I've gotten very little sleep so I've neither had the time nor the energy. I'm going to try to at least do a workout DVD each morning at home, then hopefully in a week or so I can begin hitting the gym a few nights a week. Malik hasn't worked out, either, and that makes me feel better about it. Even though he sold his gaming account, he's been playing on his brother's account because his brother's PC broke. It's kind of funny, though, because his brother shipped his broken PC down here to Uncle Ben so that Uncle Ben could fix it. We were over there last weekend when Uncle Ben was fixing it, and then Uncle Ben mailed the PC back. | | |
| Malik's grandparents took us to Mexico yesterday, so that was pretty
fun. We picked up a few decorations for the house and some baked goods.
While we were in Mexico, we treated ourselves to fish tacos.
I spent the day running around during work and after work. At school, I
turned around and walked right into a student, injuring my toe. Nothing
major, but a little blood (gross!). Then, I went to Kohl's, Costco, and
Stater Bros. Malik wants lazagna for his birthday tomorrow, so I picked
up all of the ingredients plus some stuff to make a cake and a
blueberry oatmeal breakfast bar mix. I think he'll have a good
birthday. The presents are already stacking up in the living room, and
we haven't even made it to the post office to pick up those that were
mailed. That is on my to-do list for tomorrow, while Malik is at his
math class.
I'm off to make dinner as bedtime rapidly approaches.

| I am enjoying myself in the pleasant outdoors of Yuma, AZ, with the sound of a peaceful waterfall that I can hear through the open door of the casita and relaxing harp music coming from my computer. Ahhhh, this is the life of retired people. But wait, I'm not retired! Far from it, unfortunately. Malik's grandfather and his wife, however, are retired and we are their special guests for the weekend.
We went to an exciting air show this morning and saw old fashioned prop. planes as well as some new one---something like an F-16 or something, I'm not sure of the name. Anyway, it was very cool and I had a good time. Malik, too, enjoyed himself. There's still a surprise for dinner. I understand that we are going to a restaurant where you sit on saddles while you eat. Malik doesn't know about that yet, it's a surprise!
I'd better get back to the retired life while I can. I think I might just play this guitar that's sitting next to me.... | | |
